Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: musk n., -ish suffix1.
Etymology: < musk n. + -ish suffix1. In sense 1 probably based on a misprint for muckish, the reading in all previous editions of Dent's Plaine Mans Path-way to Heauen (see quot. 1610 at sense 1; Dent died in 1603).
Now rare.
1. Lecherous, lustful. Only in muskish-minded adj. Obsolete.
