Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymons: French moucheté, moucheter.
Etymology: < Middle French moucheté (1453; earlier in form mosquete (1340)), past participle (although attested earlier) of moucheter to pattern with spots (1538) < mouche spot (see mouche n.) + -eter, verbal suffix.
Scottish. Obsolete.
Of taffeta or ermine: patterned with dark patches or spots; spotted.

Etymology: < mush v.1 + -ed suffix1.
Scottish. rare.
Of a part of a garment: puffed out into flounces; stamped with ornamental nicks or notches. Usually mushed-out.
