Etymology: < muzzle v.2 + -ing suffix1.In quot. 1847 (apparently echoed in quot. 1866) the word apparently has no specific meaning; it is unclear whether Dickens was familiar with its regional use, or whether this represents an independent coinage.
colloquial and English regional. Now rare.
Drinking, esp. to excess; a drinking bout.
