Origin: From a place name. Etymon: proper name Meuntacut.
Etymology: < an Algonquian place name first attested in English context as Meuntacut, Mountacutt (1648) and in Dutch as Mirrachtauhacky (1645), apparently adaptations in Pidgin Delaware of the Munsee form of the name.
