释义 | Monilian. Mycology and Medicine. A genus of fungi having conidia arranged in chains like beads on a string. As a count noun: any of various fungi now or formerly belonging to this genus, some of which are pathogens of humans or plants. As now defined, Monilia is a genus of hyphomycetes chiefly comprising anamorphic forms of the ascomycete genera Neurospora and Monilinia ( Sclerotinia), but it has at various times included numerous other species, esp. anamorphs of other ascomycetes, and, particularly in medical mycology, species of yeast now included in the genus Candida. The word monilia is still occasionally used by physicians as a name for Candida species (cf. Candida n.).Adopted as a genus name in H. F. Bonorden Handb. der Allgemeinen Mykol. (1851) 76, after earlier uses by Hill, Link, and Persoon.
