Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French Monoprix.
Etymology: < French Monoprix (1932), lit. ‘one price’ < mono- mono- comb. form + prix price n.
In France: any of a chain of shops selling a range of household and other goods (originally all at the same price or at very low prices). Also Monoprix store. Cf. Prisunic n.
