Origin: Probably formed within English, by clipping or shortening; perhaps modelled on a French lexical item. Etymon: mixtillion n.
Etymology: Probably shortened < mixtillion n., perhaps after Anglo-Norman mestel (see maslin n.2).Apparently introduced by historians.
