单词 minution
释义

minutionn.

Origin: Perhaps of multiple origins. A borrowing from Latin. Perhaps partly also a borrowing from French. Etymons: Latin minūtiōn-, minūtiō; French minution.
Etymology: < classical Latin minūtiōn-, minūtiō diminution (in post-classical Latin in spec. sense (12th cent. in a British source; earlier as minutio sanguinis (late 4th cent.; 11th cent. in a British source)) < minūt- , past participial stem of minuere to lessen (see minuend n.) + -iō -ion suffix1), in specific sense perhaps via Middle French minucion, minution (13th cent. in Old French). Compare slightly earlier diminution n.
