Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French mélangeur.
Etymology: < French mélangeur mixer, mixing machine (1611 as meslangeur in Cotgrave; recorded in early 20th cent. denoting specifically a machine for mixing chocolate; compare mélangeuse a mixing machine, 1867 in Littré) < mélanger to mix (see melange v.) + -eur -eur suffix.
Now rare.
A machine used in the confectionery industry for mixing chocolate.
