attributive and in the genitive. Designating a rare congenital disorder characterized by the presence of multiple enchondromas and soft tissue haemangiomas, most commonly of the extremities; esp. in Maffucci's syndrome.

1942 A. Carleton et al. in Q. Jrnl. Med. 35 205 The first recognizable case of the association of dyschondroplasia with haemangeiomata [sic]was described by Maffucci in 1881. Maffucci's syndrome is therefore suggested as an eponym for this disorder.
1974 A. Henry in R. M. Kirk et al. Surg. xv. 289/1 Multiple enchondromatosis..was originally described by Ollier... Occasionally, this condition is associated with venous vascular abnormalities and is then called Maffucci's syndrome.
1984 Radiation Med. 2 49 Maffucci syndrome is a congenital, non-hereditary mesodermal dysplasia associated with multiple enchondromas and hemangiomas. The high risk of development of malignant tumors is well-known.
