单词 licham
释义

lichamn.

Forms: Old English–Middle English líchama, líchoma, Middle English licama, Middle English licome, lic(c)-, lich-, lick-, likham(e, likame, Middle English lyc-, lygh-, lykam(e, Middle English–1500s Scottish lec-, lekame, (Middle English licaym), ? 1600s (ballad corruption) lingcan.
Etymology: Old English líchama , -homa = Old Frisian liccoma , lîchama , lîkma , Old Saxon likhamo (Middle Dutch lichame , Dutch lichaam ), Old High German lîhhamo , lîhmo (Middle High German lîchame , lîcham ), Old Norse líkame , more commonly in strong form líkam-r (Swedish lekam , Danish legeme ) < Old Germanic type *líko-hamon- weak masculine, < *lîko- lich n., body + *hamon-, Old English hama shape, covering, garment. (Old High German had also a syntactical combination of the same meaning, lîhhinamo, *lîhhin-hamo, from the genitive of a weak noun lîhha; hence Middle High German lîchnam(e, modern German leichnam.) It has been suggested that the word was originally poetical, describing the body as the ‘fleshly garment’ of the soul. Compare Old English feðerhama featherham n.
Obsolete.
