Etymology: Originally < legend n. + -izing suffix2 . Compare later legendize v. In later use probably re-formed < legendize v. + -ing suffix2.
That creates legends; legend-making; (now esp.) that creates or promotes an exaggerated or idealized image of a person or thing.
