Etymology: < Latin instaurāre to renew, repair, erect, establish, make; Old French instaurer (14–15th cent. in Godefroy). Instaur preserved the Latin form; instore may have followed an Old French or Anglo-Norman *instorer ; compare astore v., Old French estaurer , estorer , and restore v.1, Old French restorer, from 14th cent. restaurer.
Obsolete.
