释义 | arsphenaminen. Pharmacology. Now historical. A toxic organic arsenic compound formerly used to treat syphilis, yaws, and other treponemal diseases. Also: any of a group of structurally similar arsenical drugs including this and neoarsphenamine. Cf. Salvarsan n.The arsphenamine molecule was thought to consist of two aminophenol rings linked by two arsenic atoms, C12H12O2N2As2. Later studies have indicated three or five rings with correspondingly more arsenic atoms.
