Etymology: < classical Latin ignōscibilis that may be pardoned (2nd cent. a.d.; rare) < ignōscere to pardon (see ignoscency n.) + -bilis -ble suffix; compare -ible suffix.
Obsolete. rare.
That can be forgiven or pardoned.In quot. 1844 as a self-conscious use of an obscure or unusual word.
