Compare i-brotheren n.Like its attested West Germanic parallels, the Old English word inflects as a strong feminine plural noun (although compare also Middle High German geswister , neuter plural in sense ‘siblings’, German Geschwister ). The prefixed word largely shows the same types of early plural formation as attested for the unprefixed noun.
