释义 | † grovetn. Obsolete. A little grove. In Old English charters a form grafet(t occurs, which is commonly read as grăfet for *græfet, and explained as ‘trench’. If it be gráfet f. gráf grove n. (and so identical with the present word) the suffix is not originally diminutive.
