释义 | guletn. A sailing boat, usually ketch- or schooner-rigged, chiefly used in the eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea, esp. for holiday cruises. Cf. goelette n. ΚΠ 1986 Financial Times 1 Nov. (Weekend Suppl.) p. xv/2 On offer are packaged holidays in which your accommodation is on board one of the traditional wooden boats of the region, known as gulets. 1998 Artist Mar. 13/3 The company have been organising sailing cruises on their boats along the unspoilt south-west coast of Turkey for 15 years; each ‘gulet’ carries a cook as well as the captain and crew. 2003 Los Angeles Times (Nexis) 20 Mar. ix. 12 Gulets..first appeared in the southern Mediterranean in the 8th century. While modern sailboats are now largely made of fiberglass, gulets continue to be built of wood in a traditional style.
