Etymology: < gynandro- comb. form + -phore comb. form, probably after French gynandrophore (1848 or earlier).
Botany.
An elongated column on which both the androecium (male organs) and gynoecium (female organs) are borne in certain flowers (e.g. that of the passion flower).
