Jongh has given the name of gaduine is a peculiar organic body, having the formula, in an isolated state, of C35, H46, O9. 1864 H. Watts Dict. Chem. Gaduin, a peculiar brown substance contained in cod liver oil (De Jongh). 1895 F. P. Möller Cod-liver Oil & Chem. p. cix/1 Valeric, capric, and gadinic acids, gaduin, ammonia, trimethylamine, alkalöids, and such substances are partly decomposition-products. 1932 C. E. Harbison Our Dogs iii. 53 Cod liver oil, a fixed oil from the livers of the codfish, contains gaduin, olein and other glycerins.
