[after French (objet) trouvé : see objet trouvé n.] an object that has been collected in its natural state or taken from its original context and presented in a new context as (part of) a work of art.Quot. 1936 refers to a sculpture by Paul Nash with the title ‘Found Object Interpreted’, exhibited at the London Surrealist Exhibition in June 1936.
