Etymology: < annex v. + -ative suffix.Compare the following slightly earlier example, which is likely to show an error for annexation:1841 Aberdeen Jrnl. 7 Apr. Mr Colquhoun moved an amendment providing for the annexative to each union school, of a chaplain belonging to the Church of England.
Now rare.
Inclined to or characterized by annexation, esp. the annexation of territory.
