Designating that general region of the body surface of an echinoderm that does not bear tube feet, considered in contrast to the ambulacral (and interambulacral) region.In some echinoderms, such as starfish and crinoids, the antambulacral zone corresponds to most or all of the aboral surface; in others, such as echinoids and holothurians, it is represented only by a small region at the apex.
