Etymology: < fine adv. + draw v. Compare earlier fine-drawn adj. N.E.D. (1896) records pronunciations with stress on the first syllable and the second syllable, and a pronunciation with equal stress.
1. transitive. To draw or sew together (two pieces of material or two edges of a tear) so that the join is imperceptible; to mend (a garment) neatly. Cf. draw v. 15. Now rare.
