1852 J. R. Morell & A. Johnson tr. W. G. Tennemann Man. Hist. Philos. (rev. ed.) ii. i. 217 A monk of Marmoutier, named Gaunilon, ably attacked this sort of ontological argument, which received from its author the name of the Anselmian proof.
