ancestral being n. Cultural Anthropology and Mythology (a) a mythological figure or entity instrumental in creating or shaping the culture of a people; (b) (in the mythology of some Australian Aboriginal peoples) any of the beings associated with the creation of the earth in the dreamtime (see dreamtime n. 2).
