Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Or (ii) a borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: Latin anonymus , -ity suffix; Greek ἀνώνυμος , -ity suffix.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin anonymus or its etymon ancient Greek ἀνώνυμος (see anonymous adj.) + -ity suffix Compare later anonymousness n.Compare French anonymité state of being anonymous (1778).
