Etymology: < Falcidius + -an suffix.
In Falcidian law (Lex Falcidia), a law carried by P. Falcidius, which ordained that no Roman citizen should bequeath more than three-fourths of his estate away from his legal heirs. Hence Falcidian portion the fourth part thus reserved.
