Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Etymons: Latin Anglicus , -ize suffix.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin Anglicus English (see Anglic adj.) + -ize suffix. Compare earlier Anglize v. and slightly earlier Anglify v.In forms anglocise, anglocize probably ultimately after Anglo- comb. form.
