1968 J. Ironside Fashion Alphabet 226 Dupion (Douppion)..is a silk thread made from two cocoons which have been so closely ‘nested’ that a coarse double filament results. The double thread is always woven as one and the resultant silk fabric is irregular and slub-like. The yarn is now simulated in rayon and acetate fibres.
