Etymology: originally < Turkish dōlāmān or ḍōlāmah, whence Polish, Bohemian doloman , Magyar dolmany , French doliman , (in sense 2) dolman, German doliman, dollman. The disyllabic form appears to be through French.
1. A long robe open in front, with narrow sleeves, worn by the Turks.
