单词 | ambrosin |
释义 | ambrosinn. Numismatics. Now rare. A silver coin with a cross on the obverse and an image of St Ambrose enthroned on the reverse. The coin was issued in Milan in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. The references to St Ambrose on horseback in quots. 1753 and 1771 perhaps results from a confusion with a different coin, of the Visconti era, which has Ambrose enthroned on one side, and a knight on horseback on the other.
