Etymology: < allitur- (in German Allitursäure allituric acid: A. Schlieper 1845, in Ann. der Chem. u. Pharm. 56 21; < all- (in Alloxan alloxan n., whence the acid was obtained by Schlieper) + -i- -i- connective + -tur- (in Allantursäure allanturic acid (see allanturic adj.) and Leucotursäure leucoturic acid (1845 in the same paper)) + Säure acid) + -ic suffix. Compare French alliturique (1846 or earlier in acide alliturique).

Chemistry. Now disused.
