Etymology: < discourage v. + -able suffix. Compare slightly earlier undiscourageable adj.
Capable of being discouraged, deterred, or disheartened. Formerly also: †discouraging, off-putting (obsolete).In quot. 1576 probably an error for undiscourageable (cf. quot. 1574 at undiscourageable adj.).
