Etymology: < post-classical Latin daemonialis made by evil spirits (6th cent. or earlier) < classical Latin daemonium (see demon n.) + -ālis -al suffix1. Compare earlier demonical adj., demoniacal adj., and also earlier demonic adj., demoniac adj.Compare Anglo-Norman and Old French, Middle French demonial, French démonial (13th cent.), Spanish (rare) demonial (early 15th cent.).
Now rare.
