Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: Greek ἀνθρώπινος , -ism suffix.
Etymology: < ancient Greek ἀνθρώπινος human ( < ἄνθρωπος man (see anthropo- comb. form) + -ινος -ine suffix2) + -ism suffix. Compare slightly earlier anthropinistic adj.
Now rare.
Consideration of things exclusively with regard to their relationship with humanity; anthropocentrism.
