/kɒŋˈkɒlədʒi/, U.S. /kɑŋˈkɑlədʒi/ The science or study of shells and shellfish. This term, which came into use when the mollusca were studied almost exclusively in reference to their shells, is now left chiefly to collectors of the latter.
