1. Originally and chiefly Irish English. A seductive spell or charm. Only in to put the (also one's) come hither on a person and variants: to exercise a powerful influence over someone; to persuade, beguile, or deceive someone; (also) to seduce a person of the opposite sex. Cf. comether n.
