Origin: Apparently a borrowing from Latin. Etymons: Latin absoniat-, absoniare.
Etymology: Apparently < post-classical Latin absoniat-, past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of absoniare (c1114 in a British source, rendering ashun v. in Anglo-Saxon laws), apparently < ashun v. with substitution of classical Latin ab- ab- prefix for the prefix.
Obsolete.
