Etymology: irregularly < chrysal- (in chrysalis n.) + -ine suffix1. This and chrysaloid adj., etc. are formed as if the stem of the Greek word were chrysal-, whereas it is chrysalid-.Previous versions of the OED give the stress as: ˈchrysaline.
