Medicine any syndrome characterized by a persistent feeling of fatigue; spec. a condition of unknown origin (though sometimes occurring after a viral infection) characterized by debilitating fatigue and any of a variety of other non-specific symptoms such as headache and myalgia, also called myalgic encephalomyelitis; cf. yuppie flu n. at yuppie n.
