Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: a- prefix1, grace v.
Etymology: < a- prefix1 + grace v.Compare Italian aggraziare to ingratiate (oneself) (14th cent.), to make (a drink) more agreeable in taste (1767), to add grace to, give elegance to (a person or thing) (19th cent.). However, the original of the passage translated in quot. 1825 does not use Italian aggraziare or a similar verb.
Obsolete. rare.
