(sä-vādrə lämäs, sä′ä-vĕdrä), Carlos 1878-1959. Argentine diplomat and educator. He won the 1936 Nobel Peace Prize for his part in negotiating an end to the Chaco War (1932-1935) between Bolivia and Paraguay.
