The name given to a resinous gum obtained from various Australian trees, esp. the blackboy or grass-tree, used for preparing varnish, paper size, etc. Usu. attrib., as accaroid gum, accaroid resin, etc.
The blackboy gum and Botany Bay gum yield red and yellow varieties respectively.
