cupferron Chem.|ˈkʌpfɛrən, ˈkjuːp-| [G. (O. Baudisch 1909, in Chem. Zeitung XXXIII. 1298), f. L. cup-rum copper + ferr-um iron + -on.] A brownish-yellow crystalline compound, C6H5N(NO)ONH4, used as a quantitative precipitant for iron, titanium, zirconium, and certain other metals in acid solution and formerly as a reagent for copper.
