counter-ˈpotencé, -ˈpotency, a. Her. [= F. contre-potencé: see counter- 14. In English the final -é appears sometimes treated as an English -e mute.] Having the figures called ‘potents’ (shaped like the heads of crutches) arranged as in counter-vair.
