counter-ˈcoined, ppl. a. Her. ? Obs. [tr. med.L. contraconātus; cf. counter- 14 d., coin n. 2 and coned ppl. a. 1.] Said of a field: Consisting of gyrons of alternate tinctures, the ‘coins’ or apices of which meet in the centre of the shield.
