cop-rose, copper-rose [Cf. F. mod. coprose in same sense. Connexion with F. couperose copperas, or copper-nose, has been suggested; Hatzfeld compares Ger. klapperrose.] A local name of the red Corn Poppy (Papaver Rhœas).
