Sogdian, a. and n.|ˈsɒgdɪən| Also Soghdian, Sughdian. [ad. L. Sogdiānus, a. Gr. σογδιανός, f. O. Persian Suguda, later Sugud.] A. adj. Of or belonging to Sogdiana, an ancient Persian province corresponding to the modern Samarkand and Bokhara in the Uzbek S.S.R. B. n. a. A native of this province. b.
