consumedly, adv.|kənˈsjuːmɪdlɪ| [f. prec. + -ly2: cf. consume v. 7; probably sometimes associated with consummately.] Excessively, extremely, hugely. App. at first = confoundedly, as an expression of execration or dislike; slang of c 1700, which has been handed down by the dramatists of that day, and become a literary affectation.
